You stay involved in who provides care. We carry the administration behind it.
Clairo is a Maryland DDA provider agency. That means the employment, payroll, training, billing, and compliance for services we deliver sit with us — while families and participants stay at the center of building the care team.
The process
Every family moves at a different speed. Nothing here has to happen all at once.
Start with a conversation
Tell us about the participant, current services, the care team, and what isn't working. No forms first — a conversation.
Review services and authorizations
We look at the participant's plan, approved services, and authorizations to see which services Clairo may be able to deliver.
Build the care team
Decide together who should be providing support — including caregivers the participant already knows and qualified family or friends where permitted.
Onboard caregivers
Applications, background checks, required training, and account setup. Clairo runs the process and keeps everyone updated.
Coordinate the transition
We work with the participant, family, and coordinator so services and schedules move over without gaps.
Start services
Care begins. Daily notes, schedules, and records live in one app so the whole team stays connected.
Bringing your caregiver
This is the question families ask first. In many cases a caregiver the participant already trusts can apply to work through Clairo and keep providing support.
Subject to service requirements, caregiver qualifications, onboarding, DDA rules, and the participant's individual circumstances.
What Clairo handles
Where are you starting from?
Coming from traditional services?
Most of the conversation is about caregiver choice, retention, and whether someone the participant already knows could take on the role.
Traditional services →Currently self-directing?
We look at which services Clairo may be able to deliver, and what could stay self-directed — then talk through the trade-offs honestly.
Self-Directed Services →Let's talk
Tell us where you're starting from and we'll map out the process for your family's situation.
No pressure. Just a conversation about your options.
