Wages & benefits

When we build our model, caregiver wages come first — not last.

Caregiver pay is not a line item at the end of the budget. It is the starting point.

Clairo Care is designed to run lean so more of the available service funding reaches the people actually providing support. Better pay is how a participant keeps the caregiver they trust.

Caregiver pay is care quality

Compensation is the most direct lever on quality of care.

This is not an abstract value. Every one of these follows from what caregivers are paid.

Retention

Caregivers who are paid well stay in the role, and the participant keeps the person who knows them.

Recruiting

Competitive pay widens the pool of people willing to take on demanding, skilled work.

Continuity

Fewer handovers means fewer disruptions to routines, communication, and trust.

Relationships

Long tenure is what turns a caregiver into someone who genuinely understands the participant.

Quality of care

Experienced, stable caregivers notice changes earlier and support goals better.

Family peace of mind

Families spend less time recruiting and re-training, and more time living their lives.

How the model works

Low overhead, on purpose.

Every provider agency has real costs — payroll, compliance, training, billing, coordination. Clairo built its own software so those functions take fewer people and less time, and structured the organization to stay lean.

That structure is the whole point: the less the model costs to run, the more of the service rate can go toward caregiver compensation. It is a choice about priorities, not a criticism of anyone else's.

Purpose-built tools instead of manual administration
A lean organization with fewer layers
Compensation treated as a first commitment, not a leftover
Transparency about what we pay

Beyond the hourly rate

Mileage Reimbursed for eligible travel
Health benefits Available for eligible caregivers
Paid time off Available for eligible caregivers
Training Required certifications supported and tracked
Support A named coordinator, not a call queue
Flexibility Schedules built around the participant
